The Village of New Concord introduced the online MyCitizenSurveyPanel: New Concord in the fall of 2018. A total of 191 participants made up of New Concord residents, business owners, and individuals who live on the outskirts of the Village responded to our first survey panel.
Generally, respondents felt positive about the overall quality of services provided by the Village of New Concord (76%) and 4 in 10 respondents reported they were currently involved with a community or civic engagement that they believe is helping build a stronger community. 44% of respondents felt that the overall direction that the Village is taking was good or excellent while two-thirds of respondents somewhat or strongly agreed that the residents and elected officials of New Concord share a clear vision for the long-term future of the community.
Respondents also had the opportunity to suggest things that our community needs to address in order to increase quality of life over the next 5 years. The majority of responses included addition of more business and restaurant opportunities; making safety improvements such as crosswalks/sidewalks; enforcement of traffic laws; building a community center to promote family activities and civic engagement; creating park space; making improvements to affordable housing; and creating a recycling program.
The information and insights provided by community members, like you or your neighbors, will help to guide future policy and operational decisions in the Village of New Concord. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on this survey panel.
