As many of you know, the Village has embarked on a process to identify the future of a community pool for New Concord area residents. Our existing pool is over 60 years old and at the end of its lifespan. This has led to the question of how we wish to move forward as a community.

What does the pool mean to you, your family and our community? We invite you to share your positive experiences in a note or letter. We encourage feedback from adults and young people, and from current (NCAP) and past (EMSPA) users. Your response may be included in a grant application seeking funding support toward a new pool.

Some examples you could write about (or choose your own) –

  • What are your favorite memories of the pool?
  • What do/did you like about having our own pool in New Concord?
  • How did your lifeguarding/concession stand experience help you in your future endeavors?
  • Is/was the pool your home base in the summertime?
  • New friendships made at the pool / family bonding at the pool
  • Did you learn to swim here? Did you take swimming lessons? What was that like?

We don’t need anything elaborate or long – just a few sentences to a paragraph will do. ** We also welcome favorite pool pictures that could be included in the application. **

Please send your response to the Village at (or drop it off at Village Hall) by Friday March 11 to be included in the grant application.

Thank you for your help and support for the future of NCAP!
