K-Pop Dance for beginners

June 24 @ 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm
$8

Join instructor Raya Taylor for a NEW, summer only, dance sensation! In this class, we will be learning short pieces of choreography from popular K-pop groups, music videos, and the K-pop Demon Hunters movie. K-pop (Korean Pop) Dance is a dance style rooted in hip-hop. The choreography is meant to be recreated by fans as a way of them interacting with the music and their favorite K-Pop idol groups.

The choreography is easy enough to replicate without any prior dance training – similar to the difficulty level of a TikTok dance trend. It consists of precise arm positions and occasional complex footwork that can easily be modified to fit the dancer’s abilities. Whether you’re a long time K-pop fan or just looking for some exercise, K-pop dance is a fun, beginner-friendly dance style for all ages.

For each class, we will learn the chorus section of ONE K-pop dance – about 30-seconds of choreography! Raya will break each part down into smaller sections to practice, and we will put it all together at the end! How cool will this be when the whole class is dancing to the newest trend?

Class meets at the Muskingum University’s Chess Center Wednesdays in June at 5:30 PM!
Cost $8 / class or $25 for the full summer session
