The 2025 Celebrate New Concord summer outdoor concert series presents Barefoot McCoy on Tuesday, July 8 at 7 p.m. in Village Park, 2 West Main Street.
Jake “Barefoot” McCoy is a Folk/Americana singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Ohio. Known for his distinctive style on piano, guitar, and banjo, he blends original songs with classics from the American songbook. A relative of the legendary Doc Watson, Jake “Barefoot” McCoy draws inspiration from artists like Jim Croce, Bob Dylan, John Denver, Cat Stevens, and Merle Travis. He earned the nickname “Barefoot” during summers spent playing folk music shoeless in Kentucky. Now, he is celebrating 10 years performing under the name “Barefoot McCoy.”
All Celebrate New Concord concerts are held at Village Park, 2 West Main Street. Admission is free. Bring your family, friends and your favorite folding chair. Come early and enjoy the New Concord Farmers Market from 4-7 p.m. at the corner of Maple and Layton. Rain location for all Celebrate New Concord concerts is the New Concord United Methodist Church (20 E. High Street).

About Celebrate New Concord
Celebrate New Concord has reached over 17,000 audience members since its founding in 2001 by the late Muskingum University music professor Dr. William Schlacks. He and his co-director, the late Rod Lang, also of Muskingum University, worked with the Celebrate New Concord committee and village leadership to bring high-quality, family-friendly summer entertainment in an informal environment. Performances feature a variety of musical and other entertainment genres. The concerts are traditionally held on Tuesdays in June, July and August.
Celebrate New Concord is funded entirely through individual and business contributions. Committee members serve as volunteers.
