A highlight of the December 13 Village Council meeting was the presentation of awards and recognition to three members of the New Concord Police Department and one member of Village Council.
Sgt. Jeff Dawson – Gallantry Star Medal and Commendation for courageous action in a highly volatile situation that threatened lives.
Patrolman Dylan Young – Honorable Service Medal and Commendation for off-duty support of Sgt Dawson that demonstrated professionalism and personal initiative.
Patrolman James Hunter – Ready Commendaation Medal and Commendation for 21 years of dedicated service to the New Concord Police Department and continued professional qualification.
Council member Scott Sabino – Certificate of Appreciation for service, dedication and valued contributions to the New Concord Village Council from January 2020 through December 2021.
