This Saturday, October 26 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Friends of New Concord members and community volunteers will be at the New Concord Village Reservoir repairing the trail bridges to help ensure our reservoir and its trail can be enjoyed safely for our current and future generations. Please avoid hiking the trail and being in the general area, if possible, on Saturday.
Next, if you would like to help repair your reservoir bridges, we are still looking for a few more volunteers! Please note that this is physically demanding work and will require the use of tools, carrying heavy items, and/or lots of walking on trails. Volunteers are asked to wear closed-toed shoes, bring gloves, and bring water. If you are interested, please email friendsofvnc@gmail.com by Friday, October 25 at 5:00PM. Students, this is a great way to gain community service hours!
Finally, this work is being done at our beloved reservoir thanks to Tad Hughes and the success of our 2024 Community Day event! The generosity of our Community Day sponsors, vendors, and community ensured our organization was able to procure all supplies needed to make the bridge repairs. We hope that, as a nonprofit 501(c)(3), our future events will continue to attract the participation of our community to ensure we can always to give back to New Concord through projects like these. Thank you!
