Tuesday, Nov. 29, Muskingum University celebrates the annual lighting of its campus to welcome the holiday season. The event begins at 6 p.m. in the Library’s McCalmont Colloquium Center, where Muskingum University students will provide pre-ceremony music.
At 7 p.m., the Celebration of Light program will feature prayers, poetry, Scriptures, carols, and songs on the theme of light by Muskingum students, faculty, and staff, as they reflect on the meaning of light in their own faith traditions. A candlelight procession outside to the Fountain for the lighting of the campus will celebrate light dispelling darkness and how it brings hope to the world. Following the ceremony, all are invited back into the library to conclude the evening with hot chocolate and fellowship.
This event is free, and the public is encouraged to attend the event and to walk or drive throughout the campus to enjoy the lights. The lights will remain lit until January 2023.
